Roemer Continues Expansion into Uzbekistan’s Growing Market by Opening Local Office in Tashkent

Roemer Capital, an international investment banking and prime brokerage group, has officially established a local presence in Uzbekistan and Eurasia Belt through its affiliated entity, Roemer Silk Road, as part of its broader strategy to connect developed and emerging financial markets.

The expansion into the region reflects Roemer Capital’s vision of “tearing down walls” between global capital and high-potential frontier markets by creating secure, transparent, and sustainable investment channels. With Uzbekistan and the broader Central Asian region undergoing dynamic economic reforms and opening up to international business, the market presents substantial long-term opportunities for institutional and private investors.

Roemer Silk Road is positioned to serve as a key facilitator of cross-border investments. The company will provide local institutions and corporations with access to world-class investment banking services, advanced execution platforms, and international market expertise.

"Our team has a long-term successful track record working with global investors, development institutions, and credit rating agencies on projects across emerging markets, including Central Asia," said Alexei Petrov, CEO of Roemer Silk Road. "We see a high level of interest in Uzbekistan right now. To be effective, you need to be on the ground - close to clients, partners, and opportunities."

Mr. Petrov, a seasoned investment banker, brings close to 35 years of experience in structuring deals in frontier markets, having previously led initiatives across Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Asia.

Roman Lokhov, Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Roemer Capital, emphasized the strategic importance of the move: "We are very optimistic about the future of Uzbekistan and the wider Central Asian region. These countries are undergoing significant economic transformation, supported by structural reforms, growing trade flows, and increased participation from international development institutions and major global players."

"This is a pivotal moment for the region," Lokhov added. "Roemer Capital is committed to being a catalyst in this transformation - leveraging our global network, creativity, and a long-standing commitment to excellence to help unlock the region’s full potential."
